The Cottages

The cottages are built from local stone and are estimated to be over 200 years old.  We have refurbished these homes to provide the ultimate in comfort and convenience.  Both include towels and bed linen (these will be changed weekly for longer stay guests) have been fitted with wood-burning stoves, dishwashers, washing machines, fridge-freezes, electric ovens / gas hobs and Digital DVD/TVs with free view in both the living areas and master bedrooms. Each has full gas central heating with modern fitted bathrooms including a luxury shower over the baths.  Heating and electric is included in the tariff.  These cosy cottages offer everything you could need for either a short weekend break or a longer holiday away from the hustle and bustle of busy lives.

The Hayloft (4 person)

Originally built to house the Clydesdale horses that were used to ‘power’ the farm, with the hay loft above.  It now provides the following:- private garden with  patio area and table and chairs for lazy lunches and  BBQs offering beautiful views with amazing sunsets over the distant hills.

The ground floor accommodation provides a cloakroom and area for outdoor clothing situated off the porch.  The main living area is spacious with focal-point wood-burning stove which will be laid and ready for lighting when you arrive.  It has a digital DVD/TV with free view, and selection of DVD’s, comfortable sofas.  There is also a separate fully equipped modern kitchen / dining room with dishwasher and washing machine for ease.  We provide a childrens' toy basket. 

On the first floor the bathroom is now built into the original hayloft opening with a thermostatically controlled shower over the bath for your convenience, the heated towel rail provides warm dry towels whatever the weather.  The master bedroom has ample storage, hair dryer and a digital DVD/TV with free view. The second bedroom also has good storage, hair dryer, and can be set-up as either a twin room or a second double room (zip-link mattress, so no ‘roll together’) if required for two couples sharing.  Please notify us before arrival and we will ensure the correct sleeping arrangements are available for you.  Both bedrooms look out over cattle fields and heath with a small woodland in the distance.  

The Parlour (2 person)

This is the converted dairy parlour where the cows would be milked to provide butter and cheese for the farm.  We have produced the ideal peaceful romantic retreat for you to unwind, relax and enjoy the countryside.  It has a private garden and patio area with table and chairs for romantic evening suppers, BBQs and offers views over the cattle fields, heath and woodland with beautiful sunsets.  

On the ground floor a cloakroom and area for hanging outdoor clothing is situated off the porch.  The remainder of the downstairs is open plan, including the fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine.   The living area has a focal-point wood-burning stove which will be laid and ready for lighting when you arrive, digital DVD/TV with free view, selection of DVD’s, comfortable sofa and dining area.

First floor has a large master bedroom with en-suite.  The bedroom has ample storage, hair dryer, digital DVD/TV with free view and offers beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.  The en -suite has a thermostatically controlled shower over the bath and a heated towel rail provides warm dry towels throughout your stay.
